A bite of The Californian underworld has landed in Margate…
Channelling a love of the VHS era with a silly, spooky edge and a diner inspired menu. The food focuses on fun sides and diner-style burgers — always pressed, never smashed — with the menu available vegan or gluten free on request.
Named after the fictional town in the 80s cult vampire movie The Lost Boys, Santa Carla is a space shaped by nostalgia, subculture and a healthy nod to a love of horror with a towering skeleton and a mural of horror heroes decorating the length of the bar.
As is the case with all things vampire, the atmosphere shifts with the light. By day Santa Carla is a laid-back seaside diner which becomes a cocktail bar and glowing haunt as the night draws in.
A list of cocktails to die for and a generous happy hour, keep claws tapping into the night with a killer playlist and alternative soundtrack of emo, metal and cult classics.
